With the Productivity Solution Grant (PSG)!
PSG was first announced at the Supplementary Budget 2020 by the Singapore government, and aimed at encouraging enterprises to continue their digitisation and productivity upgrading efforts.
Businesses can receive up to 50% of funding support for eligible costs
The grant supports companies that are keen to adopt IT solutions and equipment to enhance their business processes.
Sector-specific solutions covered include:
- Retail
- Food
- Logistics
- Precision Engineering
- Construction and landscaping industries
Additionally, PSG also supports the adoption of solutions that cut across industries, like:
- Customer management
- Data analytics
- Financial management
- Inventory tracking
On top of this, to help enterprises implement COVID-19 business continuity measures, the scope of the generic solutions has expanded to also include:
- Online collaboration tools (including laptop-bundled remote working solutions);
- Virtual meeting and telephony tools;
- Queue management systems;
- Temperature screening solutions
The above support for COVID-19 business continuity measures will end on 31 December 2020.
Who can apply?
Business entities that meet the following criteria:
- Business entity that is registered/incorporated in Singapore
- At least 30% local shareholding
- Company’s Group Annual Sales Turnover of not more than S$100 million, or Company’s Group Employment Size of not more than 200 workers
- Purchase/lease/subscription of the Equipment or IT Solution must be used in Singapore
The following entities do not qualify for grant support:
- Charities, Institutions of Public Characters (IPCs)
- Religious Entities
- Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO)
- Government agencies and subsidiaries
How do you apply?
STEP 1 :
Access this list of supportable solutions and identify relevant solutions for your business needs.
A Shopify subscription is already a pre-scoped approved IT solution for Retail businesses under “E-Commerce - Online Shop and Marketplace (B2B & B2C)”. You’ll be able to receive support for Shopify Basic, Shopify, Advanced Shopify and Shopify Plus
Do note that you must have a minimum of 30% ordinary shares held directly or indirectly by a Singaporean or PR.
STEP 2
For IT solutions: Get a quotation from the pre-approved vendor
For Equipment: Source for the equipment and get a quotation from the vendor
Apply here for your quotation, then use it to submit your quotation via this PSG grant portal.
STEP 3
Submit an application on the Business Grants Portal. You will need to register for a CorpPass account.
Let’s go through the process together!
- Visit businessgrants.gov.sg.

Under “Apply for a grant now”, click “Login with CorpPass”

On the next page, log in with your CorpPass.
You can either log in with your Singapass Mobile app or CorpPass 2FA, OR you can simply enter your UEN / Entity ID, CorpPass ID and Password. Click “Login”.

You will be notified that a push notification has been sent to your SingPass.

Check your phone for the push notification. Click “Yes”.

After your login has been completed on Singpass mobile, return to the Business Grants Portal page.

You have successfully logged in and reached the Business Grants Portal! To start your application process, click “Get new grant”.

Under the “Select sector” section, click “Retail”.

Under the “Select grant” section, select “Upgrade key business areas, such as adopt technology, improve business processes or raise service standards.”

Under the “Apply for grant” section, select “Pre-scoped Productivity Solutions”. Then click “Apply”.

On this page, make sure you have your quotation that you've received after applying on the official Shopify site on hand! Click the “Proceed” button under Application Form.

Go through the eligibility criteria once more, and make sure that you qualify! If you do, select “Yes”, and then click “Next”.

Fill in your main contact person’s details here. Be sure to make sure all the fields with the red asterisk are filled up, and that you enter the CEO or Managing Director’s details as registered with ACRA. Click “Next” when you’re done.

Select “IT Solution”.

In this section, type in Shopify, and select the plan you’ve decided to go for.

Under No. of Units, select “1”. Put in the start date you intend to start using the solution, and under “Why do you need this solution?”, you can share with BGP why you’ve decided to go for Shopify.

Under Vendor Details, select “Shopify Commerce Singapore Pte Ltd”.

Under “Upload supporting documents”, click “Select files” and upload the quotation that was sent to you by Jumpstart Commerce.

Be sure to also tag this document as “Selected vendor’s quotations”.

Under “Deployment Locations”, select the location type accordingly, and enter the relevant address. Then click “Next”.

It might take some time to load, so be patient and do not click away or reload the page!

Under the Cost section, select “Subscription/Lease”, and then enter the Duration, Monthly Fee and One-time fee accordingly, then click “Next”.

Under Business Impact, describe how Shopify can improve your retail business, as well as list out the tasks that it will help become more efficient. Then click “Next”.

Under Declare and Review, be sure to go through each question carefully and answer them accordingly. Once you’re done, review your claim and click “Submit”.
So, what’s next?
- Remember to print the receipt number of your submission for future reference.
- Your claim may take up to 6-8 weeks of processing time for Enterprise Singapore to respond to you.
